Administrator, Associated Colleges in China (ACC)

The Associated Colleges in China program is looking for a full-time administrator to assume a broad range of administrative responsibilities related to the program’s recruitment, orientation, operation, publicity, and public relations. Primary responsibilities include further development, implementation, and monitoring of the admission and operation processes of the ACC related programs, specifically the design, development, and operation of the ACC summer programs. The Administrator acts as liaison for all parties related to ACC programs and assumes responsibilities and duties assigned by the Director and the ACC Advisory Board.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain all communication systems and program materials for recruitment and admission; establish a database and website template for information display and sample materials.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with the ACC Advisory Board, General Director, the ACC Beijing office, affiliate colleges and peer institutions, sponsoring organizations, parents and students.
  • Administer recruitment and admission processes for ACC summer programs including database management; advertising in appropriate publications; arranging off-campus meetings and informational; revising the ACC handbook and program requirements for accepted students; assist in application evaluation process; providing guidance and feedback on field studies project proposals; and monitoring pre-departure project progress.
  • Manage the grant by communicating with and reporting to the ACC director and grant agency; process monthly expenses; file financial reports to the grant agency; work with the Beijing office and Hamilton business office on fund transfers, financial reports and annual grant reports.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a China related field with several years job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must possess leadership, administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of constituencies; and competency in personal computer use including word processing and spreadsheets as well as database management. The ability to read, type, and understand Chinese is highly desirable.
