Corporate Development Manager
Our client is a 100 year old, global manufacturing company with locations spread across more than 20 countries. The company is looking for a Corporate Development Manager for its US headquarters located on the East Coast. The individual should have strong Asia work/life experience and proficiency in an Asian language. The position will include a strong focus on M&A in the Asia-Pacific region.
Job Description
The Corporate Development Department evaluates and executes on various transactional opportunities on both a corporate and division level. These include mergers and acquisitions, divestitures of business units, and, when necessary or appropriate, the negotiation of important contracts with key stakeholders. The Department also negotiates complicated transactions such as technology licenses, joint ventures and other relationships that are a key to the growth of the company.
The Corporate Development Manager is responsible for the assessment and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions and investments by the company. This will include leading the internal M&A team and coordinating with key company leadership as opportunities arise. This position will manage the entire due diligence process including working closely with internal business partners and various internal departments including finance and legal to ensure that the processes and agreements are handled appropriately. This person will guide acquisition target research, build detailed financial models, and help to support the execution of transactions. In addition, this person will support a network of investment bankers and industry experts with a goal of identifying future acquisition candidates for consideration.
Requirements
- Asia work/life experience
- Three to five years of relevant experience after MBA
- Technical undergraduate degree preferred, but not required
- Fluency in Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, or Korean)
- Financial modeling skills
- Familiarity with basic business law and contracts
